How Can You Tell If A Cambridge Restaurant Deal Is Actually A Deal? |
Use the final-bill test before you book, with current offers from Bella Italia, PizzaExpress and Prezzo. |

A restaurant deal is only a bargain if it works for the meal you actually want.
That sounds obvious. Yet a big “50% off” or “kids eat free” message can look very different once you add the drinks, check the eligible menu and find out what you had to buy first.
Here’s the Cambridge test: build the order before you get excited about the discount.
At Bella Italia in Cambridge Leisure Park, Clifton Way,
Summer Rewards runs from July 20 to September 1, 2026.
Registered app users can get free gelato on their first qualifying visit, 25% off food on the second and 50% off food on the third.
The headline saving doesn’t cover everything.
The percentage discounts apply to food, while drinks and delivery are excluded.
You also need to redeem the reward on the right visit, and offers are subject to availability.
So if your table usually includes soft drinks, wine, sides and coffee, calculate the food saving first.
Then add the rest of the bill. It could still be a good deal, but it isn’t half off the whole meal.
Bella Italia’s Kids Eat Free offer gives families another simple check. An adult main is required.
That can work well when the adult meal was already part of the plan.
It looks less attractive if you’re ordering an extra adult main just to unlock the children’s food deal.
PizzaExpress’s Holiday Heroes offer, running from July 25 to August 28, 2026, gives children a free meal with any pizza or main.
Teenagers can get a Classic pizza and selected soft drink for £12.
The Cambridge venue is at 14-16 Bridge Street.
Before booking, check the exact dishes covered and the adult purchase attached to the offer. “Free” only cuts the bill if the rest of the order still suits your budget.
Students have a different calculation at Prezzo Cambridge, 32 Bridge Street.
The August UNiDAYS offer gives eligible users 25% off the Celebration Set Menu from August 1 to August 31, from noon onwards.
It covers two- or three-course dine-in orders, needs a redemption code, is limited to selected restaurants and can’t be combined with another offer.
One bill can include up to 12 people.
Save this checklist before booking:
1. Check the end date and eligible days.
A restricted offer isn’t automatically poor value.
The right family promotion or set menu can save money without changing the plan.
The sensible comparison is the complete meal, the final bill and the compromises involved.
